The cupid and angels were but a myth to her;
Tales of unending love, the stuff of legends.
Unfathomable the thought which would leave her fraught;
How the bonds of love,would not rend?
Then one fateful day, she was touched by the nasty spell;
A quagmire of sorts,an ambivalence unfelt,
when the mind said no, but the heart just would'nt relent!
Her trusted friend, the conscience, warned;
Of vicissitudes, a clairvoyance alarmed.
But there she was, oh so strong, but defenseless against his charms;
A simple smile could kill, was there any need of arms?
The utopia transcended her to empyrean heights;
A state so blissful, so blinded by love, such ecstacy...
She drank from the poison chalice, not suspecting any malice;
An unsuspecting prey to the mirage of her own fantasy.
But miracles do happen, and yes from the ashes the phoenix rose!
Time, the healer, soothed her sores.
Hope, the benefactor,led her ashore.
Still the phalanx of old memories would haunt her vulnerable soul;
With a tear in her eye and a smile on her face,
"Much a do about nothing,its just my heart that he stole!"
